For paid channels and groups

What a paid channelactually earns.

Subscribers, the share who pay, the monthly price. Then the part nobody puts on the pricing page: what each way of collecting it leaves in your hands.

How you collect itTheir cutYou keep / month/ year

The percentages are editable because they change and because yours may differ — put in the rate you actually pay. The defaults are typical published rates, not quotes, and app store commission is often charged on top of a platform's own cut for in-app purchases. None of this counts refunds, tax, or the subscribers who leave.

The number that matters

The cut compounds; the price does not.

A difference of a few per cent reads as rounding until you annualise it. On a channel turning over a few thousand dollars a month, the gap between a 1.5% fee and a 30% one is not a line item — it is most of a salary. And unlike your price, it is not something your subscribers ever see or object to.

Nothing is deducted twice

1.5% when a payment settles. No monthly fee, no listing fee, no minimum, and no second cut from an app store.

The money is not held

Each sale settles to your own wallet through a vault created for that sale. There is no payout schedule because there is nothing to pay out.

No reversals

A settled payment is final, so the revenue above is revenue — not a figure a chargeback can take back months later.

Honest caveats

What this does not model.

Churn. A subscription business loses a share of its members every month. At 5% monthly churn you replace a third of your list a year just to stand still, and the figure above is a snapshot of a full month, not a forecast.

Conversion. Two per cent of a free channel paying for a private one is a reasonable starting assumption and nothing more. Your number depends on what is behind the wall.

Tax. None of this is net of whatever you owe where you live.

Questions

Straight answers.

What conversion rate should I expect?

Nobody can tell you honestly, and anyone quoting a universal figure is guessing. One to three per cent of an engaged free channel converting to a paid one is a common starting point, but it swings enormously with what you are selling and how long people have followed you. Run the calculator at 1%, 2% and 5% and plan against the lowest.

Are the default fee percentages accurate?

They are typical published rates at the time of writing, which is why every one of them is an editable field. Platforms change terms, run promotional rates, and charge differently by country and by whether the purchase happens in an app. Check your own account and put in the real number.

Why is the app store cut separate?

Because it is charged by Apple or Google on the purchase itself, before the platform takes its own share, whenever the payment happens inside an iOS or Android app. A platform advertising a low fee can still leave you with substantially less once that is applied. Payments that happen outside an app avoid it.

Does 1.5% really have nothing else attached?

It is 1.5% when something sells, plus 0.5% more only if the currency paid has to be converted into the one you want to receive. No monthly fee, no setup fee, no listing fee, no minimum. If nothing sells in a month, that month costs nothing.

Can I charge in my own currency?

You price in whatever currency you think in and the buyer sees it converted into theirs. Settlement is in USDC or USDT to your own wallet.

Put a price on the room.

Two fields in a Telegram chat gives you a payment link. Paste it in the channel, and the invite goes out the moment somebody pays.
